Take advice from someone who knows
All the useful advice on any topic says that if you want to be successful then follow someone successful. Read that sentence again, it doesn’t say COPY someone who is successful. So with that in mind, when the author of one of your favorite blogs writes a series of posts detailing how to be a successful blogger you should sit up and take notice.
In this case I’m talking about QBlog of the Quixtar Blog. His 101 runs through a whole host of topics covering being brief in what you have to say, having and maintaining a code of ethics, a few ways to monetize your blog and a fantastic piece on developing regular features.
Visit the archives there and scroll down to the blogging 101 section to read up. The posts there are listed in reverse order, so start from the bottom.
